Tradition since 1911

Fraunholz-Lebkuchen is situated in Johannis,
a most traditional part of Nuremberg in Germany.

Sacks of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger
and cardamom are piled up here. Together with finely
grated almonds and nuts, with honey, marzipan,
sugar, eggs and some more spices, they are the base
for the “Elisen” gingerbread from Fraunholz.
The exact mixture, however, is a secret that is
passed on over generations, and will not be revealed.

After all, this recipe is what makes the Fraunholz
gingerbread so special - since 1911 in Nuremberg.
